From Generator Burden to Solar Testimony
I am a pastor, and for years our church depended heavily on a petrol generator to power our public address system and a few light bulbs during services. Every week, fuel expenses kept rising. Sometimes, we spent close to ₦40,000–₦50,000 monthly just to ensure sound and basic lighting. It became a serious burden on the church finances.
In faith and with wise counsel, we decided to take a step forward. We installed a ₦600,000 one-kVA solar system, designed specifically to power our public address system and five bulbs. It was not a luxury setup—just a focused, purpose-driven solution.
Within the first four to six months, the results were undeniable.
The money we used to pour into fuel was no longer going into the generator. When we reviewed our records, we realized the church had saved almost ₦1,000,000 in fuel costs within that short period. What once went into petrol now goes into ministry work, welfare, and church growth.
Beyond the savings, the peace of mind is priceless. No more generator noise during worship, no fuel scarcity worries, and no service interruptions.
Even during power outages, church activities continue smoothly.
This solar investment has taught us an important lesson: wise stewardship and technology can work hand in hand with faith. Today, our church stands as a living testimony that small, strategic solar systems can bring big financial relief.
Indeed, the sun now works for the church—and the savings speak louder than the generator ever did.
